Several of our EVSPA students are presented throughout the year with professional opportunities to work in the community in productions, film, television and commercials. We call them “Biz Kidz”. Some have professional representation with agencies in Richmond, Norfolk and even Washington D.C. Trip Payne, film director formerly of Metro Productions, said, “it is wonderful to work with EVSPA students who have been so well trained and prepared.”
Children and youth are being utilized in professional capacities more than ever. The monies a child can year can earn can be invested and utilized for higher education, first home or even a more long-term usage, retirement. However, with the increase in need for children and youth comes a greater competition for those job opportunities. Technique and quality training still are factors that casting agents are looking for. It not always about a pretty face.
